Plans and billing

SoloBook is free for one business, and you do not need a card for that. If you need more, there are paid plans. This page explains what they are and how paying works. Prices are shown inside the app, so they are always the current ones.

🧾 The plans

  • Free: one business, with everything the other pages of this guide describe, except what the paid plans add.
  • Starter: several businesses, and attaching receipts and invoices to transactions.
  • Pro: as many businesses as you need, and the same extras.

The plan you are on is shown as a small coloured badge in the header and under Settings → Account. Inside Settings → Plan & billing, each plan lists what it includes.

A few features are limited on the Free plan, for example how many repeating invoices you can have. When you reach a limit, SoloBook says so and links to the plans instead of showing an error.

💳 Paying

  1. Open Settings → Plan & billing.
  2. Choose Monthly or Yearly as the Billing period.
  3. Press Pay by card under the plan you want.

You go to a payment page run by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never to SoloBook. When you come back, the screen says Confirming your payment… and waits until the payment is really recorded. It never says “paid” because of a redirect alone. If it takes longer than a minute, refresh the page later.

If you close the Stripe page without paying, nothing is charged, and a payment that was started but not paid reads Awaiting payment in your list.

Prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax. GST/HST is added at checkout, based on your billing address.

🔁 Switching plans

If you already have a paid plan, the button under another plan reads Switch to. SoloBook shows what it will do before you confirm:

  • Moving up: you pay the difference for the days that are left on your current plan. If the difference is very small, there is nothing to pay.
  • Moving down: nothing is charged. What is left of your current plan becomes days of the cheaper plan.
  • Without paying: when you move up, you can also choose to switch without paying. Then what is left of your current plan becomes fewer days of the higher one.

If the price changed while you were looking, SoloBook asks you to check the new amount and confirm again.

🗓️ When a plan ends

A paid plan runs for the period you paid for. In the last week, and for a week after it ends, a banner reminds you, and the badge shows how many days are left. Press Renew to extend it.

When a paid plan has ended:

  • your books, transactions and invoices stay as they were;
  • files you already attached stay available;
  • attaching new files pauses until you renew.

🧾 Your payments and invoices

The Payments table lists every payment with its date, plan, period, amount and status: Awaiting payment, Paid, Refunded or Cancelled. A plan change is marked as such. For a paid payment, Download opens the invoice from Stripe.
