What SoloBook does not do
A good tool tells you what it is not. Here is ours.
🚫 SoloBook does not
- File your tax return. Nothing is sent to CRA, ever. SoloBook prepares numbers for you or your accountant to use.
- Give tax, accounting or financial advice. The estimates and the what-if tools are planning aids. Every one of them says so, and says to confirm with an accountant.
- Calculate GST/HST. In your business settings you can note whether you are registered, and on an invoice you can type a tax name and rate. SoloBook shows what you type. It does not decide what tax applies and does not prepare a GST/HST return.
- Run payroll.
- Do double-entry accounting. There are no debits and credits here. That is the point.
- Estimate tax for every province. The tax estimate works for Alberta today.
⏳ Not ready yet
Some things you may expect to find are not built yet. We would rather say so than let you hunt for them.
- Reports. The Reports item in the menu is a placeholder. Today, your numbers are on the Dashboard, the Budget and the Tax year screen.
- Direct connection to every bank. Wise and PrivatBank connect directly. Other banks work through file import, and if yours is not supported yet, you can order the import from us. See Connecting your bank.
